Most online shoe returns come down to one thing: the size. This guide takes two minutes and saves you the hassle. And if you still get it wrong, we swap it for free.

Measure in the afternoon

Feet tend to be at their biggest late in the day, after hours of standing and walking. Measure then, so your shoes fit the foot you have at 3pm, not just the one you have at 7am.

How to measure

1. Put a sheet of paper on the floor against a wall.
2. Stand on it with your heel touching the wall. Ask someone to help if bending is hard.
3. Mark the tip of your longest toe and measure from the wall to the mark in centimetres.
4. Measure both feet and use the longer one.
5. Match it to the chart below. If you land between two sizes, go up.

Width and swelling

CloudStride shoes are wide as standard, with a roomy toe box and an adjustable strap. If your feet spread or swell by the afternoon, set the strap snug in the morning and loosen it a little later in the day.

• Narrow feet: the strap helps, but they may feel roomy.
• Regular or wide feet: take your usual size.
• Very wide feet, thick socks or your own insoles: go half a size up.

Sizes we stock

UK 3, 4, 5, 6, 6.5, 7.5, 8, 9 and 9.5. There is no UK 7 or 8.5 in this shoe, so go to the next size up and use the strap to snug it in.
